Pattern Play 02

Pattern Play | Spruce Rd.

Another pattern study this week! I created this pattern the old-fashioned way — sketching by hand, cutting the paper, and re-assembling, for a repeatable pattern. I followed this diagram here if you are interested in the process. Yes, this pattern is not perfectly vectorized, and the lines don’t all meet up. I liked the handmade feel and looseness of this not-so-perfect illustration. It is nice to step away from the computer and doodle for a bit of contrast to my day!

Handmade, loose patterns are my favorite. They’re flawless in all their flaws. Beautiful work!
